Role Overview
The Rope Access Welder will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and repair works in difficult-to-access areas using rope access techniques. This role requires high technical competence in welding combined with strong safety awareness and the ability to operate in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks at height or in confined spaces using rope access methods (in accordance with IRATA/SPRAT standards).
• Carry out structural repairs, modifications, and maintenance on steel frameworks, plant, and equipment.
• Inspect and prepare surfaces, materials, and equipment before welding works.
• Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy of work.
• Operate and maintain welding and rope access equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
• Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and adhere strictly to Australian WHS regulations.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects.

Skills and Qualifications

• Certificate III (or equivalent) in Fabrication, Welding, or related trade.
• Valid Rope Access certification (IRATA Level 1 or higher, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in welding (MMA, TIG, MIG) in construction, mining, or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and working at heights protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
