  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Ensure diligent adherence to process and procedures, in particular completion of first checks and quality control.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment, to like new appearance
  • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner, including completion of requisite safety risk assessments (Take 5s).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a workshop environment
  • Demonstrated ability to read detailed drawings.
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Finish high school, and one year or more at college is highly desirable or graduate of any related vocational course, IELTS/PTE passer is an advantage.
